MEET THE TEAM BEHIND DAVE & DANI CRAFT CIDER.
David ("Dave") Tegtmeier has always had a passion for building things, so it makes sense that in a little over five years, he would build the largest farm winery in Kansas. As a seventh generation Kansas farmer, Dave’s agricultural roots inspired his desire to turn the Kansas landscape into vineyards to grow grapes for Liquid Art Winery.
With his formal education in winemaking and his experience in brewing, Dave has combined his love of agriculture with his knowledge of winemaking to grow Liquid Art to over 15 wine varietals and an increasing menu of ciders. But he couldn’t stop there! For the first three years of Liquid Art's Tasting Room being opened, cider was only served on tap. Patrons begged to take Dave’s craft cider home, and Dave listened. What started out as their Tasting Room's option for “non-wine drinkers” has grown into its own idea: Dave & Dani Craft Cider.
After a production-space expansion in 2018, Dave and the team began bottling the cider for sale out of the Tasting Room and locally in liquor stores and restaurants across Kansas. You can be sure this won’t be the last of Dave’s ventures, so keep looking out!
Danielle ("Dani") Tegtmeier, the “hostess with the mostess”, is known around here for her contagious smile, and her ability to mutli-task to get any job done! Also a Kansas native, Dani has an enthusiasm for local small business and, when she met Dave, realized they could combine their passions to create Liquid Art Winery.
Dani has a knack for creating an inviting space, attention to detail and keeping the wheels of the business turning. Dani often jokes about how she is the “official Taste Tester” for Dave’s cider concoctions, and she is often the one driving him to keep creating those new and different flavors for the Test Taps.
With her extensive experience in sales and marketing of alcoholic beverages in four different state markets, Dani leads the sales team. She develops relationships with the retail buyers, plans sales routes, loads the distribution vans and develops the creative marketing you see on the store shelves. Dani is the "apple of Dave's eye" and you can sure see why!
Our legal bootleggers are our "troops on the ground," helping us maximize self-distribution across the state of Kansas. They log a lot of miles as they are responsible for getting our beverages from the winery to liquor stores, bars and restaurants, and ultimately, to YOU! They cover a large territory-- as far east as Kansas City, as far south as Wichita, and as far west as Hays, America-- and they are KILLIN' IT!
Dave & Dani provide beverage and sales internships to students in the National Strategic Sales Institute at Kansas State University.
